You Can Now Create Stickers from Objects in Your Photos on Instagram

Instagram is testing a new sticker option that allows users to create stickers out of objects within their photos. This feature enables users to identify specific entities within their images and easily cut and paste them in isolation. These cut-out objects can then be used as stickers in Instagram Stories and Reels.

This new option is similar to Apple’s photo cut-out feature in iOS 16, which allows users to isolate the subject of a photo and use it as a separate image in messages and other applications.

While this sticker option may not be entirely original, it offers a convenient way for users to create stickers specifically for use within Instagram. Instagram chief Adam Mosseri also mentioned that users will be able to create stickers not only from their own photos in the camera roll but also from eligible images seen on Instagram.

Currently, this cut-out feature is being tested with selected users on Instagram.

Unique Perspective: The introduction of this new sticker option on Instagram provides users with more creative tools to enhance their Stories and Reels. By allowing individuals to easily cut out and transform objects in their photos into stickers, Instagram is fostering greater personalization and visual storytelling on its platform. This feature may spark increased engagement and attract more users who enjoy expressing their unique style through customized stickers. As Instagram continues to iterate and test new features, it further solidifies its position as a leading social media platform for creative expression.
