NEW DELHI: The Air India Categorical Staff Union (AIXEU) has claimed that the airline has issued cost sheets to 200 cabin crew members for reporting sick in Could, a transfer the union referred to as “unfair labor follow”.
The cost sheets had been issued on June 5, with a 72-hour response deadline.
In Could, round 200 cabin crew members went on strike to protest alleged mismanagement, resulting in the cancellation of tons of of flights.
The airline terminated the providers of 25 crew members and warned others to return to work or face related penalties. The strike ended after a conciliation assembly between crew representatives and management on the Workplace of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) in Delhi on Could 9.
In a letter to Air India Categorical chief Aloke Singh, AIXEU president Ok Ok Vijayakumar said, “The charge-sheet was issued by the Chief of HR to lots of the cabin crew members relating to their sick reviews. It is rather unlucky and constitutes unfair labour follow to reopen the case and problem charge-sheets for issues which have already been settled by means of conciliation.”
The union urged the administration to chorus from reopening settled points, warning that such actions might hurt the corporate and its passengers.
They emphasised that the problem was amicably resolved in the course of the Could 9 assembly and that pursuing punitive motion would solely worsen industrial relations.
