Manual Steps for Updating Microsoft Defender

Microsoft Defender, also known as Windows Security or Windows Defender, is a vital tool for ensuring security on Windows operating systems. However, there are instances where the updates for Microsoft Defender may not work as intended. In such cases, users can explore alternative methods to keep their Defender updated.

1. Use Microsoft Defender’s update facility

Within the Settings app, users can access the Windows Security facility to check for and install updates for Microsoft Defender. This can be done by following a specific selection sequence or by directly searching for “windows security” in the Start menu.

2. Update Defender signatures in PowerShell
