Tinder Invites Your Loved Ones to Help Find You a Match

Tinder has recently introduced a new feature that allows your friends and family to recommend potential matches for you. The idea is that since your loved ones know you well, they are qualified to find someone who is compatible with you. This feature aims to make modern dating a team effort by integrating the “friend test” into the Tinder experience.

The Tinder Matchmaker feature enables friends and family to access Tinder and suggest profiles for a user, even if they don’t have their own Tinder account. This gives users the extra insight of seeing which profiles their friends “Like” for them when considering a potential match.

According to a survey conducted by Tinder, it is common for GenZ singles in India to have their friends swipe on dating apps on their behalf. Over a third of respondents have swiped for a friend, and close to a third have had their friends swipe for them. Additionally, many young singles in India have used dating apps with a friend, and more than half have sought their friend’s advice on profile pictures and bios.

Using the Tinder Matchmaker feature is simple. Users can start a Matchmaker session from a profile card or within the app settings. They can then share their unique link with up to 15 friends within a 24-hour period. The matchmakers have 24 hours to recommend profiles for the user, but they cannot chat or send messages on their behalf. After the session expires, Tinder users can review the profiles their matchmakers “Like” for them, and these profiles will be marked as recommendations. Ultimately, the user still has the final say in deciding who to “Like,” but they now have insight into who their friends are rooting for.

This feature is currently available in various countries including the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. It is expected to expand to other regions in the coming months.

With Tinder’s new Matchmaker feature, finding a potential match becomes a collaborative effort. By involving friends and family in the process, users can benefit from the unique perspective and advice of their loved ones. This feature adds a personal touch to modern dating and gives users a chance to explore potential matches with the support of those who know them best.
