Elon Musk’s X could exit from Europe.

Elon Musk may be contemplating restricting access to X in Europe in response to the region’s new internet regulations.

Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, is considering removing the service formerly known as Twitter from Europe due to the new internet platform regulations in the region, as reported by the news site, Insider.

According to a person familiar with the company, the billionaire has discussed either removing the app’s availability in the region or blocking users in the European Union from accessing it.

In August, the European Union adopted the Digital Services Act (DSA), which establishes rules for preventing the spread of harmful content, restricting certain user-targeting practices, and sharing internal data with regulators and associated researchers, among other provisions.

X has not responded immediately to a Reuters request for comment.
