Exploring the New WhatsApp Search Feature for Updates Tab: A Guide to How It Works – News18

The search feature within the Updates tab is currently accessible to select beta testers.

The popular instant messaging application WhatsApp is currently working on several new features to make its platform more user-friendly. Now, a new report suggests that the Meta-owned app is rolling out a search feature for the Updates tab, which makes it easier to search for status updates and channels.

According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, this feature has already been released to some beta testers on Android with the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.7 update. Additionally, the search feature is now rolling out to the iOS app as well, with the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.21.1.72 update from the TestFlight app.

The introduction of a search bar within the Updates tab allows users to easily search for their followed channels. This is particularly beneficial as the number of followed updates continues to grow, making it more challenging to find specific channels.

Furthermore, for users who have chosen not to follow any channel, they now have the option to collapse the section that lists recommended channels. This enables them to prioritize the updates that are most relevant to them.

This new search feature for the Updates tab addresses the complication of searching for status updates. By bringing back the search feature, WhatsApp is making it easier for users to find and navigate through their followed channels.

The implementation of this update demonstrates WhatsApp’s commitment to listening to user feedback and improving the overall user experience. By including the option to collapse recommended channels, the app is catering to the preferences and needs of its users.

Currently, the search feature within the Updates tab is only available to select beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta updates via the TestFlight app on iOS. It will gradually become accessible to more users over the next few days.
