Is there an asteroid in the vastness of space that can be a threat to Earth? According to NASA scientists, there are currently no known asteroid threats to Earth for at least 100 years. However, there are unknown asteroids that could pose a problem.

According to NASA JPL asteroid expert Davide Farnocchia, NASA is constantly searching for asteroids because of the potential threat they pose.

According to Davide, asteroid impacts have occurred in the past and can happen in the future. However, these events are rare, with a destructive asteroid only occurring every few thousand years or more.

This is why it’s important to continue searching for ways to protect Earth from asteroids and identify them before they pose a threat.

NASA has been funding search programs for over 20 years to observe the sky and track asteroids.

Davide states that over a million asteroids have been discovered, with 95 percent of those larger than one kilometer that could potentially come close to Earth.

Once an asteroid is discovered, its future path is projected to determine the possibility of an impact on Earth.

The Torino scale is used to assess the risk level of each asteroid, with a range from zero (lowest risk) to 10 (highest risk).

Fortunately, all the asteroids discovered so far have been ranked as zero on the Torino scale, indicating the lowest risk for the next hundred years.

However, scientists will keep searching the skies for rogue asteroids, just in case
